I work on systems software. Currently an engineer at Salesforce; before that, query processing in SAP HANA and micro services for Cisco Webex. Earlier still, kernel engineering on Sybase’s Adaptive Server Enterprise.
Most of what interests me is the unglamorous half of distributed systems: replication, high availability, and database internals. I studied computer science at Carnegie Mellon, where Advanced Storage Systems and Cloud Computing were the two that stuck.
